On a high after registering a win after seven straight losses, Pune Warriors India will aim to continue their winning run as they take on Deccan Chargers in the Indian Premier League on Tuesday.
So far, both teams have played 10 matches each and won three thus having six points. Despite the losses, they still have a chance to make it to the play-offs given they win all the remaining matches.
Hence, this match will be extremely important for both teams and they will definitely go all out against each other.
In their last match against Kings XI Punjab, Pune came up with an impressive performance to pocket the match by five wickets.
Chasing a modest target of 120, the top-order — Jesse Ryder (15), Manish Pandey (28), Robin Uthappa (22) and Yuvraj Singh — fired in unison to help Pune come back to winning ways.
Skipper Yuvraj played a cameo knock of 35 of just 16 balls that fetched him the man of the match award.
Their bowlers also appeared on the mark. The ploy to bring in Bhuvneshwar Kumar in place of Alfonso Thomas added to their cause. Kumar not only picked wickets but also didn't leak away many runs.
Leg-spinner Rahul Sharma continued with his form with ball and was well supported by Wayne Parnell and Mitchell Marsh.
Deccan, on the other hand, have been consistently inconsistent. Batting and fielding are two areas where the home team needs to improve.
